John J –
Great as a portable vice. If using directly on the floor it does need to be packed off slightly to enable full use clamping handle.
Kindle Customer –
I use the vice for working on wood with the Draper magnetic soft jaws. It works perfectly when drilling. My workshop is smallish and the vice is just the right size for what I have to do. My only slight quibble with it was that it was quite oily when it arrived which needed some work to remove it but at least the vice is freely moving and corrosion-free.
Claudiu –
It’s a sturdy vice which provides a good clamping force. It requires 4 screws in order to fix it, but for my first use (cutting some rails) I used some F clamps. Also the rotating head it’s a very usefull feature. If I would to find something that needs to be improved, I would say higher jaws, but it’s only me trying to find a disadvantage.

As described, delivered reasonably promptly. It’s probably made in China, despite the brand, but it seems pretty solid, the casting and machining are accurate, the closure is precise and even. I wouldn’t like to use the anvil section for more than some light tapping, but this vice seems perfect for small jobs.

As someone kitting out a bike shop it was important to have a vice however money was important so I wanted a good quality vice that didn’t break the bank and this provided….. HOWEVER the locking pin on the right to stop it rotating didn’t work very well and under a reasonable load would often allow the vice to move. I did end up removing this and drilling a bolt through the work bench to make it more stable as funnily enough I didn’t need it to rotate as much as I thought I would (if I had a do-over I would purchase a solid vice) If you need a rotating vice for light work this is great I work on bikes and use a lot of rotational force on this therefore it isn’t secure enough for my needs. The vice itself is well build robust and sturdy. Its got a nice weight too it and good mounting points.

I needed a vice for ages so read a few reviews and bought this, when it arrived I took it out and thought “small”, but to be honest I thought it was a full size vice like I used to use in a workshop, its not.Do not let the size put you off (its not that small) it does the job its bigger brothers can do, if you want to shape steel on the anvil part get the bigger one, this is man enough for the home and on the plus side it swivels! Plus it has a pipe grip under the mouth.I would say if you want a vice for the home shed/workshop then there is nothing wrong with this, its a light/medium use vise and does not take up a huge amount of room the full size one does, I am quite happy with it even though its smaller than I thought but quite happy that it was’nt full size as I have more room on the bench.

The vice is well made with a powder coated finish and propper bolted on vice jaws which are perfectly parallel. The swivel mechanism is easy to use and absolutely secure when tightened down. Excellent value for money! (I have bolted mine onto a 33 mm thick piece of wood made up as a bench hook so I can secure it in my woodworker’s vice or clamp it to the bench – 33 mm so the handle can rotate 360 deg without touching the woodwoker’s vice top)

For the price I was not expecting much. I was oh so WRONG. First off you will probably have to strip and regrease it as mine came with very gummy grease making it impossibly tight. Whilst I only use it on a hobby level my hobbies include a lot of medium/heavy vice work. I have had others in this price range that snapped on or near first use. I put this through its paces including crushing mild steel pipe and hammering 2mm plate into a 90 degree bracket. It handles the abuse no problem.

Brilliant vice, one of those products where you mean it when you say you love it five stars! The vice comes in two parts: the upper part (the vice itslef) and the lower part (the mount with four bolt holes). Make sure you the holes one by one for the mount making sure each bolt fits into place. Then remove and attach the vice to the mount using that silver lever on the right hand side and a 17mm bolt underneath. Finally, bolt to the bench using penny washers (not supplied). If you intend to move the vice on the bench, make sure you remove the upper part from the lower part or your holes will probably be skew whiff (as mine were!)

Nice build, only used for small jobs but feels like excellent quality. Doesn’t come with bolts to secure base but that’s as expected. Would have bought the larger 6inch one this is fare better value for money.Updated: I have been using this vice pretty much weekly now since I’v had it. I’ve never ‘needed’ a vice before but thought it was a useful tool. Now having had one, I would say it’s a real asset to my DIY work bench. Everything from Soldering to holding screws when cutting with the Dremmel. I’ve used it for hammering down on and even fixing the kids headless dolls. Now updated to 5/5. Thanks you Stanley for the great quality and price.
