Great machine

Great router , really powerful makes light work of kitchen worktops. A few issues though ,1 doesn’t come supplied with a plug ( nearly 400 quid and trend can’t fit a plug ? ) And 2 it doesn’t have an automatic brake .other than that great bit of kit.

This little beast is not a toy to be played with, it’s a great havy duty router for serious people. The quality of the build and materials used, from the die cast parts to the cabling is top quality and made to last a long time.My images show the best feature, in my opinion and that is the lock on the plunger. With cheap routers the smallest of tasks can be tiring as one has to constantly put weight on the router whereby this one has that lock. Simply plunge to the required depth and lock the plunger in place thus one can simply glide the router without exerting oneself..This router is ideal for any wood work as the bits that can be purched can bevel, cut tongues and gooves in floorboarding and the best is the one that can cut dovetail joints. We all know how bad factory produced flat back furiture is. There’s always a hole that is misaligned, the joints are weak as dowel and glue is simply not strong enough and a few months after assembling an item it is already starting to work at falling apart. That is where the dovetail bit comes into play. Rather than purchasing flat pack furiture that doesn’t last long one can pay a bit more and make ones own furiture from timber. The strongest joint in furniture is the dovetail. Even a wardrobe is not that difficult to make with a good router as there is no need for the hammer and chisels and the router is accurate in the cuts so each and every joint will fit together perfectly. With this router and good bits one can produce anything from a wooden clock to a good strong chest of drawers and that plunger lock makes an easy task much easier. With a good selection of bits one can carve, groove, chamfer, round, bebel, straighent etc. etc. any piece of wood. This is an ideal tool for garages and workshops, it is strong, stable, built to last many a year and is the very good quality one would expect from a Trend machine, it is good value so I am recommending it.
A Happy Customer –
Now I have to say I know absolutely nothing about routers, but my son does and he is upgrading his home, bit by bit, and based on his experience with this Trend T12EK 1/2” Variable speed plunge router I can tell you he is impressed with it. It has a powerful 2300W motor and it’s precise, accurate and fast. He’s been using it to cut worktops in his kitchen and doors and he feels it’s much better than the one he’s borrowed off his carpenter mate, in fact his mate tried it too and loved it. Both thought it felt ergonomically better designed to use and felt very safe, with an automatic cut off, important with such a tool. It’s not cheap, but then it’s well made and should last many years with good care. I will say though, this one arrived without packaging so the carry case it come with was badly scratched, the contents were loose inside too, not quite what I’d expect from a top quality brand Trend who are well regarded in the industry (so my son’s carpenter mate tells me and I guess he knows). My son is very impressed with this trade standard router, it has an impressive 80mm plunge depth with the power to make it easy to use without kickback. I’m therefore happy to recommend it to you too.

Great quality router, I’ve used a few of these in my time so I know a decent one when I use one/see one. This isn’t aimed at your average weekend flat pack DIYer, its a professional piece of kit, lots of adjustments on depth and speed etc to get your cuts just right.Great carry case too, stows everything away very neatly and arrived just in its case so no wasted extra packaging, 10/10 for that @seller.Trend are quickly establishing themselves as a top manufacturer of quality tools in my opinion – 5 stars
