Claw Hammer DesignThere are two types of claw designs, a curved claw end which is perfect for removing and prying nails and the ripping claw, which is ideal for pulling up floorboards or ripping out unwanted studwork. |
Overstrike ProtectionOverstrike protection provides added protection and greater durability to key vulnerable areas of the shaft of the hammer which might get exposed whilst in use. |
WeightThe weight of the hammer will affect the amount of force and striking power required to embed larger nails. A 20Oz hammer in comparison to a 16Oz would be better suited for driving larger fixings above 75 mm and vice versa a 16Oz hammer would be better suited for fixing smaller nails. |

ricky cole –
I bought this as a spare but ended up using it as my main hammer, nicely weighted, great grip and it actually looks good
Sanjin –
I purchased a hammer from a local store for about the same price and that one broke within the first couple of hits. It was seemingly not real metal top bit and it cracked when I hit a bigger nail. Just split in halfI needed a good one and found this with good reviewsReviews aren’t lying, the item seems very reliable. The handle is comfortable and with the rubber, gives a good grip. It is heavy and sturdy.Good purchase

I am a at home DIYer and this hammer is perfect for what I do. It’s comfortable to hold in the hand and as a female with smaller hands it feels lovely, not too heavy! I would recommend this product and great value for money!

The extra weight is noticeable. Drives nails faster but may be overkill for lighter applications. Buy a lighter one for those jobs!

I use this tool often for DIY use or in the garden for driving in plant stakes etc.

If you are a DIY person like me and you look at this product (16 Oz Stanley Hammer) thinking if the 20 Oz would be better, please don’t. I wasted so much time debating but when I got this 16 Oz version, I was so happy I made the right decision. It is the perfect weight for most jobs around the house.Ignore the negative reviews that think the hammer chips (that is not the metal, but simply a coating to make them shiny and protect them in storage). It’s a hammer, who cares if it gets knicks and scratches?A must have in your toolbox!

Having used the hammer several times, i’ve found it to be well balanced and feels well designed and made.
