Great for small jobs and fits in your pocket rather than having to take a load of tools for a small job for a long walk to the job. Great quality

I already have a larger Bahco ½ drive socket set and have been impressed with the quality. I’ve been on the lookout for a compact ¼ drive set for a while. I have a set, bought inexpensively many years ago, and over time I’ve found it very useful to the point where for anything other than where some serious grunt is required, its been my ‘go to’ kit for all those little jobs that seem to crop up frequently. However, my old set is sadly on its last legs. The ratchet action is dodgy and some of the sockets are well worn. So, when it came to replacing it, this little Bahco set seemed ideal. It’s very compact, but well made. It’s the detail that impresses. For example, the tools are contained within a cut out that’s made of high density foam, rather than some cheaper sets that have blown moulded plastic that reminds you of the inside of a chocolate box, and very quickly cracks and deforms. The box itself is sturdy and closes with a reassuring ‘click’. The ratchet has a positive action and a padded, comfortable handle (as opposed to the machine turned knurling on my old set). The sockets are hexagonal, as opposed to multi pointed and are a snug fit on the bolt heads heads.I’m sure there are more expensive, ‘professional’ kits out there, but for what I need this represents and good balance of quality at an reasonable price point.

Nice little set. Used within its limitations (it is only 1/4 drive) and not abused, should last a long time.I know the fish logo is missing but it still feels well made.To the reviewer that could not fit the torx and screwdriver bits into the ratchet, you have to use the adapter situated next to the 4mm socket. The ratchet drive fits in one end and the bits in the other. Hope this helps.

Usual quality, nice box and a good selection of bits.

I had the Draper version of a pocket socket set. Unfortunately I dropped the socket ratchet in to a customers vehicles engine bay and I could not find it.Deciding to try another brand and the Barco being heavily reduced, I opted for the Barco. Whilst the overall set has no real significant difference in weight the Barco set, especially the socket ratchet, which feels more sturdy and has a little more length to the ratchet handle which makes difference having the extra leverage for tough bolts. Also the extension is a lot longer than the one in the Draper set.The downside is the case. The hard plastic case of the Draper set was much easier to use especially the torx, hex and screwdriver bits. With the Barco set they are in foam sleeves, which are fiddley to remove and if not really careful the whole sleeve comes out when trying extract the one bit. I am sure it will not be long before I lose them. Also the ratchet does not sit in the box very well. However I must say even with the box being much inferior to the Draper box, the actually Barco tools are much better than the Draper. It is a nice little set that is really handy to be able to carry on my cargo trouser pocket for work, meaning I do not have to carry a full toolbox.

Good quality. I like the quick release button design. I can change sockets easily.

I have owned one of these sets for ten years and have used it almost daily since the day I got it. Containing some of the most popular sockets and drives used, it’s well made, small enough to get into fiddly places but large enough to get a decent grip and apply some torque. The convenience of not having to carry its big brother around is worth the cost alone.
