Purchased these as a second set of stands. My original set have a triangular foot print. These Silverline stands have four individual feet in a rectangular pattern. It makes them more secure on my gravel driveway, and allows them to be placed closed to the jack. Once in place the central support can be simply pulled up into position and the ratchet locks in place. Much better than a round central support which needs a locking pin pushed through.Just note that the ‘cradle’ at the top of the support arm is wider than some cheaper alternatives, so be careful if looking for jack pad to go on top.

Simply put, these stands do what you need them to do – support a vehicle for safe working. I had no problems getting them under the vehicle (Vauxhall Zafira) using the jack that came with the car. To help protect the sills I made a block from a section of square fencepost, spreads the load better without all the weight sitting on the protruding lip. Even with this extra height of block, still fitted underneath no problem, with a good bit of travel left on the jack. Adjust-ability is very easy and once there is weight on the stands, the handles aren’t going anywhere!

Sturdy axle stands, support my 3500kg motorhome – one axle of it, of course not the whole 3500kg.

Very well built

These axle stands are well made for their price of £19.09 (with free postage from my seller). They each have a load limit of 3 metric tonnes (3,000 Kg) which is more than enough for most domestic car light van users. They have a minimum height of 285mm and a maximum height of 420mm with eight equally spaced intermediate heights (with approx. 1.6 cm spacing between each of them). They weigh 3.25 Kg each and the ratchet handle makes a convenient handle to carry them. The saddle is 7cm wide.I should’ve bought these years ago rather than soldier on with my very old tripod type stands. Used them recently to replace rear brake calipers on my car and felt confident with the car just hovering above them on the trolley jack.

Bought these to hold the crushing weight of my vehicle off my body and they did the job spectacularly. Very happy with them, simple to use and did the job.

Used to support an old car while refurbishing wheels – worked well. For old cars might be prudent to have a small non-slip pad on the top to avoid possible damage to underseal – no problem for modern cars

Being a mechanic, I’ve used these a fair number of times and haven’t experienced any issues with them. They do the job they are made to do! Even though these are sturdy, well built and can hold 3 ton, it’s important to remember that axle stands, regardless of build quality, brand etc CAN and DO fail without warning! I therefore always advise people to use axle stands with some sort of fail safe in place. Slide a wheel under the car or leave a small amount of pressure on the jack. In the highly unlikely event of an axle stand failing, the wheel or jack should give you ample time to escape from under a vehicle unscathed!

I would like optional rubberised pads, they grind off paint and eat into jacking points.

Great axle stands strong and dependable had a set for years but had them pinched so got these again wouldn’t use any other kind.
