    Not having used these sorts of chisels before, I was pleased with their quality. Re-carving a go faster arrow on my 125 yrs old boat’s sheerstrake was a doddle.

    A brilliant little set. Good for small to mid size projects.they hone well but are ready to use straight out of the box. If you take care of them properly you can make some nice pieces.

    Ordered these as a gift for my husband who does ‘stick dressing ‘. He is very impressed with these tools. Very user friendly. Does exactly what he wants. They came ready sharpened so were ready to use. He already had a different set of Narex tools and has been using them for 5 years so when he wanted to add to his collection this was the brand he went for and is very happy he did.

    Some reviews described these chisels as requiring honing. Well, I would say that many edge tools like these do require initial sharpening. These did not. They performed well right out of the box. I tried them on oak as and pine woods with equal results. Well recommended.

    I can only speak of what I received from purchasing my set. Like all blade tools, you need to sharpen them before use. Out of the box they work fine, but for a cutting edge razor sharp, I’d suggest sharpening them, at the very least, strop them. I have several Narex sets and cannot thought any of them.Word of warning, I have seen copies being sold for the same price as the real Narex. I purchased my Narex from another company.
