I wasn’t expecting much from this little cheap sprayer but used it to spray some mdf skirting i had made. undercoat was BIN primer and sprayed really well but being oil based it was a messy clean up so will stick to water based in it from now.the top coats i did in thinned farrow and ball and it left a factory finish to it! i was really surprised there was no orange peel and very good coverage. I did sand between coats but probably could have got away without even doing that.don’t be confused by the box it comes in as it just looks like a fence paint sprayer, it achieves a quality finish on interior painted surfaces too.don’t be thinking this is a quick way to paint either. its time consuming to set up with paint thinning and then clean up as well. although for fence paint you could just use without thinning and would speed up the job no end.couple of negatives, the air hose doesn’t stay in the gun very well and could do with being longer. also its fairly noisy

I am 80 years. I used this spray gun straight from the box and it worked perfectly. Good coverage, vertical and horizontal and easy to use. I thought I had cleaned it well, but my next use was totally useless and it wasted a lot of my time and effort. It was my fault. It worked perfectly after cleaning, but took a long time to clean and was messy. Here’s my advice. The kit comes with 2 bottles. 1 medium, 1 large. I used the large for the paint spraying and the medium bottle for soapy water which I found perfectly adequate. I connected the spray immediately after use to the soapy water container and blew it through until I got a clean water mist spray. It worked perfectly and was far less messy. The large container was easily washed with clean water… I should mention I used water based fence paint. It did a good job. I would recommend it. Just make sure you do a good job of cleaning and of course, wear a face mask and eye cover…..

I was a bit worried about buying this sprayer after reading some of the negative reviews but for the price it is a great piece of kit. To ensure the paint was the correct consistency I watched a video on YouTube were a chap explained that when you stir paint and lift the stirred it will leave ribbons of paint and when using a paint sprayer you need to add water until this ‘ribboning’ stops. I followed this advice and the sprayer worked perfectly. The cleaning was relatively easy as I followed another reviewers advice and used the spare bottle filled with warm soapy water to clean the sprayer – just spray until water is clear. We covered the floor with plastic but I still had a few ‘white plants’ so make sure you mask carefully. We painted five pallets in less than ten minutes and it would have taken me an age with a brush or roller. Only downside because I was painting pallets (gaps) was the paint wastage but worth it for the time saved. Highly recommend for any outdoor project.

I used this for oiling my decking and fence. Firstly, I have performed the same job with a brush and it took me the whole weekend. With this I was done in hours. Secondly, I used much less oil with the sprayer probably half of what I used previously. For the price the product is very good value for money and build quality is good. It seemed to work well with the oil, I can’t comment on other types of paint. I had asked a handyman to do the job which went to the hundreds, so buying this and doing it over a few hours saved time and money. I recommend for decking and fences.

Sprayed emulsion and wood gloss paint with a little thinning. Excellent results. Will be spraying fence paint and also Hammerite enamel later. A little noisy but I think most HVLP sprayers are. Easy to clean after use and the 2 reservoir sizes are a great idea.

I bought this in the hope it would make my life a little easier painting a fence with Creocote (less harmful Creosote).Said fence usually take a good one and a half hours to treat and with clean up its a two-hour job, main problem is the impact on my back and the mess.My hope was this spray gun would half the time and limit the impact on my back, having bought previous electric airguns I wasn’t too optimistic. The set comes with two different size bowls, I filled the larger and pulled the trigger, I was totally blown away by how good this thing is.I treated the whole fence in fifteen minutes and that includes the refill time, I had the job done and everything back in the box in under thirty minutes. This is no sales pitch, it’s a genuine review. This is possibly the best buy for the money product I have bought in years and I highly recommend it.Only two recommendations, always wear a mask and don’t spray near fish ponds or people without taking precautions. The product is atomised very well and it puts it out at a speedy rate so giving it a test run might suit you.The Creosote is a thin oil based product, I’m not sure how this would work with paint but Im definitely happy with it.

I tried using a paintbrush to apply masonry paint to the breeze block walls in my garden and it was really difficult as the blocks are full of little holes that the brush skims over and it was taking ages. I decided that the only way forward would be to spray so took the plunge and bought the sprayer. I was nervous to use it as I thought that the spray paint would go everywhere, the nozzle would clog and that I would make a mess having read some of the reviews. I am a convert! It is a brilliant product. It is easy to use, easy to clean and does an excellent job with masonry paint. Yes you have to clean it after use but it takes a fraction of the time that you would normally spend cleaning brushes and rollers. The only criticism I have is that the electrical cord to the compressor is too short but that is easily rectified by using an extension. Just follow the simple instructions provided to get started and you can’t go wrong.

Took a chance on this spray gun as it was not a great deal of money and was surprised at how well it performed. I mainly use it for spraying furniture but have also used it for the mural pictured. It functions well if you follow the instructions and thin your paint to about 30 seconds through the cup provided. Not as fine a mist as a conventional spray gun (run from a compressor) but unless your spraying cars, it gives good results. Like everything in life, if you have never used a spraygun before, it will take a little practice to get the best results.

  9. Heather Playle

This is a good alternative to the most expensive brand and delivers excellent results. It comes apart easily to clean. The instructions are very good for assembling and using it, but not so good for dissembly and cleaning. A method of stopping the whole thing toppling over because of the weight distribution – for example, a stand – would be really handy. But, otherwise delighted.

This is a great little paint sprayer. I mostly use it in the garden as I can’t be bothered to mask everything up.It took me one hour to spray a 5 piece wooden garden table and chairs. Takes about 10 minutes to do my featherboard fence.I wish I had had it when I was trying to paint the breeze block walls in our garage!
