This lawnmower is perfect in so many ways. It cuts the grass well, no leads which is so much easier. I found it light and portable, doesn’t make you feel like your having to keep up with it. Quite the reverse, I can cut my grass with ease, I love the mulcher, I have quite a big garden and it doesn’t feel like a chore when cutting the grass anymore. Having an extra battery is just perfect for me. My only slight moan is the two little orange handles you have to keep hold of when using the machine, I don’t have a good grip with my hands as I have quite a lot of pain in my hands. Seriously thou, I love this machine. So much easier than a petrol mower for me.

Bit of a prequel: I do a lot of mowing and originally bought a Flymo cordless four years ago. The brick of a battery took some persuasion to lock in and, quickly, the battery terminals bent. Replaced by Flymo, the machine was good but , last August, same battery problem. I gave the machine away to someone who reckoned they could fix it.I then bought the ‘new ‘ Flymo as they looked like they’d fixed the battery issue (2 easy fitting smaller units). Only it seemed the ‘battery dept’ had now worked on the body – tinny, too light and full of problems. To adjust the height, you had to manoeuvre each wheel out of its spring onto a different setting. Of the 3 heights, the highest didn’t engage the roller and the lowest made the whole body scrape along the ground – grass looked scalped. The collection bin was so angled, it spilt clippings every time you took the basket off and it meant the bin never filled as all the clippings fell to the front. Then I found the batteries lasted about 15 minutes and took three hours to show a full charge. After a lot of arguing with Flymo/Husqvarna they sent me one spare battery (bear in mind batteries were selling for £70-100 each). Yeah, that won’t work. So they sent another. No note, no apology, just a battery. OK, whatever, at least it meant I could do all the mowing without having to rush it, despite the machines other faults.Coming out of winter hibernation in its recommended “cool and dry ” setting, 3 of 4 batteries completely dead and un-chargeable. Argument ongoing. So I needed another machine and faced the big matrix of cost/reviews/battery life/ cost of spare battery and even the height adjustment + bin level.By chance, at the end of my search I came across this one and what caught my eye was the spare battery they supply.First use done and very impressed- reassuringly weighty- five height adjustments from a simple lever- roller engages at all levels- done all front and back lawns on one battery. There is a charge light on the battery but haven’t checked it.- the blade is super sharp and gives a good cut- the collection bin is not only level, there’s a clever little flap top right which bounces open on air flow. No bounce means the bin is full. No leaking on extraction either.- generous top flap on bin means you can deposit the odd found item inside without taking the bin off- the machine is very quiet- easy to assemble, although the picture instructions are small and look awkward- the battery is easy to clip in and there’s a better safety feature in a pronged key on a tied thread. Much safer to see the key is out rather than the Flymo turn off/on against symbols you can’t easily see.Couple of iffy points, one is nothing, other being addressed- for some reason the collection bin has ventilation holes in the bottom, meaning bits fall out, especially when tidying up with the loose bin on the paving.- there’s nothing in the box about a guarantee (e mail to supplier)So , all in all, very impressed with this smart efficient mower and the only one I’ve seen with a spare battery (again, most other machines offer a spare one for about £90)

I hate reviews where the person gives something 5 stars and then says, “just got it out of the box, really great!”So,I’ve had this lawnmower over a year (June 2022), it replaced a very good petrol mower that died after many years of hard work. I was quite dubious about it at first, it cost half that of the petrol mower and seemed (as stated by another reviewer) quite “toy-like”. True it is very light, I can carry it around with one hand, but that is also one of its’ plusses, it can be moved, packed up and stored away and then retrieved without struggling to get it out of a jam-packed garden shed.I have a good sized garden, it takes about 45 minutes to mow, I need both batteries to complete the job, one is completely discharged by the time I finish and the other is at least down to half, maybe even a quarter charge left. Charging takes quite a while and they cannot go on charge “hot” from use, they need to cool down, by the time I’ve finished mowing I can put the first one on charge, about 40-60 minutes later the second one can go on charge. The lawn looks very good on the lowest setting, with nice stripes and probably matches my old petrol mower on that score. It does struggle with long grass and first cut of the year, on its highest setting is a slow process, both batteries will be dead by the time I’ve finished and after a day or two needs a second cut to get it down to a nice height, after that it can be cut on the lowest two settings on a regular basis with no problem, but again, leave it too long and it will struggle unless it is on one of the highest settings. In my mind this is the only area it cannot compete with a good petrol mower, but the manufacturer does warn that it cannot cope with grass over a certain height (it does, on its’ highest setting, very slowly and with plenty of stops to ensure it does not burn out – I know I’ve done it, but I wouldn’t recommend it on a regular basis). Bottom line, it will never match a petrol mower on a large garden or very high grass, but for most people it will be plenty good enough and probably cost half the price of a petrol mower and without the faff of storing petrol, checking oil levels and regular maintenance.Pros:Light, easy to handle. Fold up handle takes a few seconds to operate so packs away in a much smaller area than my old petrol mower. Good finished cut. Half the price of a good petrol mower and no running costs other than the cost of charging the batteries.Cons:Doesn’t have the power of a petrol mower, batteries take a good while to charge, struggles on very high grass. Not self-propelled (like most petrol mowers). If someone gave me a petrol mower I’d be happy, would I replace this one with a petrol one? No and I would definitely consider buying again if/when this one dies.

In my previous garden I had a 110ft lawn which was rectangular and I was happy to trundle up and down with a corded mower doing straight lines back and forward. Now I have an L shaped lawn at the front of the house with the power access at the other side to the rear. Mowing the lawn entails dragging an extension reel to the front of the house and constantly moving the cable out of the way for each cut. With this mower I had cut the entire lawn in the time it took me to previously just get ready to cut. This mower is supplied with comprehensive instructions completely in proper English but it was easy to assemble without even consulting them.It comes with two batteries which is a big plus as you don’t have to worry about running out of charge before you finish. The batteries also have a test button to check the charge before you start. It is light and easy to manoeuvre but only does light stripes unlike a heavier model. The grass collector held all the grass I cut whereas before my Bosch model would need emptying part way through.Another big plus is that it folds up neatly so when you put it away for the winter it will take up much less space in my shed with the collapsible grass collector stowing neatly on top.

I have a small garden and minimal grass to cut. This does the job perfectly. One battery easily lasts a good 40 minutes worth of cutting. Mower is really easy to handle, lightweight but strong.

  6. Martin

very pleased with this lawn mower it is easy to use and packs away for easy storage in the shed ,the batteries charge very quickly and I can cut my lawn twice on one charge and leaves a nice striped finish to the lawn due to the roller .The grass collection bag has a simple indicator on to let you know once it requires emptying.

  7. Pharo

I live the ease of use and the light weight of the mower . It can either collect grass or leave it on the lawn as soil food. The battery lasted 45 minutes and I then used the spare battery supplied , to finish the job . I am pleased with this mower and it does live up to its description by manufacturer

  8. Geoff P.

I was very sceptical buying a cordless mower in place of my old petrol. I needn’t have been. This very lightweight mower is very easy to use. Gives the all important stripes. One charge is probably going to be enough for an average garden unless it’s huge but then it comes with a spare battery. It’s quite but powerful. My first use was on long grass as my old mower had packed up. Went through it easily. Easy to assemble in 5 minutes and quiet too. Don’t hesitate it really is a brilliant machine. Highly recommend

  9. Amazon Customer

Brilliant little mower for the price
