It’s becoming harder to find a decent cheap corded drill. All the supermarkets that used to be my go-to for these types of tool now want to sell Thier cordless tools and batteries. This is therefore one of the better value basic corded drills out there and for the money it’s a smashing bit of kit. It’s clearly built to a budget, as the chuck is a fairly cheap feeling key requiring type, but the rest of it feels just as good as any lower end corded drill. It’s got plenty of power for DIY use around the house when a cordless drill just isn’t quite getting the job done, and it doesn’t really matter if it gets covered in paint while using it to mix tubs at this price. One thing I would have liked too see is slightly better trigger control, as it is a bit tricky to get really low speeds as the trigger isn’t perfectly smooth. Oh and the depth rod is utterly useless as it’s plastic and will happily bend when you bang it against the surface you are drilling meaning it’s definitely a guide rather than a guaranteed depth, I’ve thrown that away and just go with trusty tape on the bit.Overall though, it’s a great beater drill when you need a bit of cordless power.

Solid and well made. Instructions are clear. No nonsense drill. Good price point £39.99 at time of review – which is about the same as those with 650w motors. Hadn’t used an electric drill in many years and had got used to just pushing harder and going more slowly with a much more expensive cordless drill. Really notice the power difference on tougher jobs. As mentioned in the other review – will probably stick to tape on the bit rather than use the plastic depth gauge. Very pleased though.
