I bought this to pull up part of a chipboard floor. I found the best technique is to chip a bit of wood away next to the nail head (3-4mm deep with a 1/4 inch chisel) and that allows the puller to get under the nail head with just one tap. After a few the technique is perfected and I’ve pulled my first 50 nails up in less than an hour. The next load will probably go a bit faster. The nails take quite a tug (70mm ring nails) to get them started but perfectly doable. All but one came out with no damage to the board. Just need to be careful with nails really close to the T&G. I always make sure I pull in the direction away from the join and that seems to work better. Very pleased, it would be a very different experience without the puller.

Very easy to use.

The weight is an issue for me. I have been using it to dismantel pallets. It worked better for me used in conjunction along side a more specialist tool. It does do the job it is promoted for.

I have an old house and cut nails are used everywhere and when it comes to getting them out a normal claw hamer is useless and so is a pair of nail pliers as you have to squeeze a lot with your hand while trying to lever with very short handles. But this beast just eats the nail right out of the wood and as you lever with the long handle it is gripping tighter to the nail, which doesn’t even have to have a head. I wish I had bought one so many years ago, all that straining I could have saved myself and all that time I could have saved. Lesson one, if there’s a proper tool for the job, there’s a reason for it and if there is a reason for it, there is an excuse to buy it. If you use it once compared to struggling with a hammer or nail plier, that once will make you realise how useful it will be and before you know it, you will be pulling nails out all over the place just because you can.

It works. Brilliant. My musical floorboards are being silenced. Have so far successfully pulled 50 two and a half inch nails. Did have 4 failures with nails shearing mainly early on before I had perfected the technique that successfully works. For the best result my method is as follows. I make short tramlines with a Stanley Knife in the floorboards either side of the nailheads and then with a quarter inch chisel dig the wood out from under the lips of the nail. This makes it easy for the jaws of the Nailpull to get a good grip under the lip of the nailhead. Just apply steady firm heavy pressure and the nail will pull. Don’t jerk the Nailpull as I did early on or the nail may shear. The shallow cavity made by the chisel in the floorboard then serves as a recess for the countersunk head of a size 10 two and a half inch supa-screw to replace the nail. Have a good electric screwdriver for the purpose. My conclusion – “worth every penny”

Just about the only way to remove nails from a chipboard floor. Seems solid and well made, works well.

I’m a novice to removing nails and I’m so glad I brought this, it did the job great I was able to use the nails again. Totally easy to use, don’t worry if you make a mistake the learning curve isn’t long. I would recommend to newbies and pros, doesn’t do a lot of damage to wood. If your worried just have a few practice tries because I was so excited after the first 4 clean removals, I did I have a few not so pretty spots but that was on me (wouldn’t recommend taking out nails from above its uncomfortable).
