Been using Estwing hammers for over 30 years, I’ve got an old straight claw framing I’ve had over 20 years, just getting a bit heavy on the old elbow,so thought I’d invest in a lighter one, overall its well made, dont really know why its painted because that’ll chip off with use, the one problem i have which makes it the worst hammer i have owned is its got a better ring than my doorbell, every time you hit something with it, its like instant Tinnitus, its now residing at the bottom of my tool bag never to see the light of day again, I’ll invest in a decent titanium hammer i think.

I really like the magnetic nail starter. The hammer feels very well made. This fairly lightweight 15OZ model with the shorter handle seems perfect to me. Very happy with the purchase. I will use it daily for pretty much everything. Highly recommended.

The hammer is good quality but the paint came off within 2 weeks

Looks great, not tried it yet but feels a good weight. Yes there’s chips in the paint like a lot have said on all the Estwing hammers. It’s a hammer though. First thing I’m gonna do is drop it on the floor so it makes absolutely no difference. Magnet feels pretty strong and looks well made. Can’t complain.

Really like these new hammers estwing is the best and first choice for most joiners and don’t let the light weight put you off these things pack a punchI also bought the 19oz for 1st fix fraiming and ripping out but for finishing joinery and day to day tapping the 15oz is great and for such a light seeming hammer it does the same job as my old 20oz but betterThe claws are beveled like chisels and are just as sharp so be warned

Nicely balanced and light but has a great punch when needed different from all the rest and looks good ,loads of folk want to try it out

As a joiner myself , have been using estwing hammers for twenty years so decided to give this one a go as grip on old one starting to thin ,really like new style of hammers , I used 20oz hammer before so this 15 oz feels like twenty oz as it’s top heavy , would prob buy 20oz for framing and kit house work but as a general finishing and jobbing hammer 15oz fine for now !
