Very happy with this drill, it’s sturdy and accurate enough for my needs, drilled a 12mm diameter hole through an 18mm dowel without any issues using a forstner drill bit. When it arrived the plastic bit at the top that holds the depth gauge was broken, I emailed the supplier and they immediately dispatched a replacement, very happy with the service and the drill.

I bought this for one job only but figured it would be useful anyway.I needed to drill down the ornate centre of a candlestick to fit a repair shaft. The metal diameter of it’s stem was tiny at its smallest so if not careful I would end up with a drill bit with its shaft covered in little decorative collars.I replaced the gearbox cover screw with one with a knob.

I have trouble understanding how this can possibly be made for the money. It is well built where it matters.Of course at this price to change speed you have to move a belt rather than flick a switch. The plastic guard looks a bit on the cheap, but it is so cheap this is entirely acceptable.
