I bought this Bosch Hammer Drill UniversalImpact 730 to replace a very old Black and Decker drill that had lasted for over 25 years!.The Impact 730 is well designed, powerful for most needs and easy to use, so my first impressions are very good. The drill comes with a case which looks sturdy enough and will help protect my £70 drill.My only complaint is that I wanted to change the postion of the hand grip because I’m left handed, but if I do that it won’t then fit into the preformed shape in the case.

The most important aspect about buying a drill is it’s power and versatility – wood, masonry(including concrete) or metal – this drill can handle it all. It does weigh quite a bit which IMHO gives it the added sturdiness. I don’t miss the cordless benefit, since I use a 15m extension box and would any-day go for a high powered electric drill like this one rather than an 18v cordless drill with the limited juice from the battery. The screw-driving functions with different speed level settings are good, anti-kickback a bonus, keyless chuck is convenient. The product is rugged and can be used through the day without fear of seizing up / overheating. Reassuring like how a Bosch product should truly be.

Good drill for the money. Bought to drill 9 cm through bricks for rawl bolts and worked no problem.

I read the majority of the reviews on this drill prior to buying and with the vast majority being positive I bought it. Good choice by me. I read some people having issues with securing the drill bits. I found if you slightly pull the locking ring out you can tighten the drill bit easily as solidly as a drill with a chuck key. Again when your loosening it same action, pullout slightly and unscrew. Works perfect. Not used the drill as a slow speed screwdriver as yet but I presume it would do that no bother either. Buy with confidence. Great drill
