I got this excellent box of kit via the Beavercraft FB page and it arrived very promptly. Although I’m about to hit 70, I am a total newbie with wood carving, and have really just “messed about” with a previously bought Beavercraft knife & bass wood, trying to learn the cuts. So I was really pleased to get this kit, so that I could actually make something recognisable. The kit came with an excellent little knife, which was razor sharp out of the box, so that I could start carving immediately. There was an instruction booklet and a few templates showing both front and side view. It also had three pieces of basswood, a pencil, some sandpaper, finger guard tape and three plasters! It took me a couple of hours to carve my first wizard, and although he doesn’t quite look like the photo on the box, when I showed it to my wife she said “is it a wizard?” That’s a result for me, as her normal response is “oh, more wooden crap!” So well done Beavercraft with an excellent little bit of kit.

This is the second wood crafting box set I have had from Breaver Craft and can not recommend their products enough.The knives are of high quality and already sharpened so ready to use straight away.Easy to follow instructions for beginners and if you’re in need of a little extra help then I found multiple videos online walking you through whittling and knife sharpening.

All the kit required for a beginner a lot of kit in a small box, 3 pieces of wood so if the first one doesnt come out as well as hoped you can just try and try again, great value for money.

It has been really interesting to me to see how much time my teenage son now puts into wood carving and now whittling. In this modern age of many other digital distractions, he has spent many happy hours carving out images and logos. He’s now trying out this whittling kit with great results. The tools from this company are so sharp and of really good quality. It just wouldn’t be the same with cheap, poor quality tools.Highly recommended and we will continue to buy from this manufacturer.

This kit was from Beavercraft.This review will my honest opinion and not influenced by Beavercraft in any wayThis kit arrived very promptly about 24 hours after ordering.All you need is inthe kit- 3 pieces of carving wood approximately 20 mm square and about 100mm high, a knife very sharp right out of the box, several templates to glue the wood to carve your wizard or you can carve freehand. There are 3 pieces of 1500 grit sandpaper to keep your knife sharp and also some plasters ( very useful if you cut yourself), along with some blue cloth tape which you use to protect your fingers while you carve. All this for just £ 35 or so, a real bargain as the knife itself retails for about £ 25.I have not yet had a chance to carve the wizard but hope to do so over the weekend.

When I was young, my grandfather made wooden toys and statues for me. I wanted to carry on this tradition with my own children. So, I tried the BeaverCraft Whittling Kit for Beginners, and it was amazing. Not only did we have fun using the kit, but the results were also better than I had hoped. My kids really enjoyed helping with the carving and polishing. It was a wonderful way to spend a rainy day, bringing back old memories and making new ones.

This comes with everything you need to get started woodcarving as a beginner including protective tape and plasters (Which as a beginner you will likely need!) I would highly suggest watching the tutorial videos, especially the one around safety because the knife is SHARP. It does come with an instruction booklet but access to the video tutorials has been an absolute godsend.
