DIY Enthusiast –
First off 2 things to clarify about this socket set and Bahco who make it:1: this is a 3/8 socket set. It contains a 3/8 ratchet and a good selection of 3/8 sockets. The Amazon description is a little confusing as it also refers to ‘1/4 square drive….’. The set contains a small selection (13) of flat/philips/hex bits to go on a 1/4 driver, hence the Amazon reference to is being a 1/4 inch as-well as a 3/8.So it’s basically a full 3/8 socket set with a few 1/4 bits thrown in too.2. It is made by Bahco. For decades Bahco was a Swedish company making high quality tools. It was taken over by SNA (parent of Snap-On) and most (if not all) manufacturing was moved out of Sweden. This socket set is made in Taiwan ( l bought this set in February 2021 – from other reviews it seems that more recent sets are made in China). In my experience Bahco quality is now mid market rather than high end, but in fairness to Bahco the prices are now mid market too.I am an amateur mechanic and l generally fix my own cars and l bought this set for that purpose. I have a separate 1/2 inch set and a separate 1/4 inch set but l find that 3/8 is the most useful socket size for most car jobs and this is the size l prefer to use.I bought this set several months ago and have used it a lot. My verdict is that l like this set a lot and l recommend it. He is why:1: the ratchet and sockets are good quality. They fit on fasteners well with no slippage or play. The ratchet is good and with 72 teeth is good for all adjustments, including small ones.2: the sockets are hex (6 sides) rather than bi-hex (12 sides). I prefer this as there is less chance of rounding off fasteners.3: the socket selection is comprehensive, starting at 10mm and going to 22mm. It skips 21mm but includes a 21mm spark plug socket so that can also be used as your 21mm socket. It also has a 16mm spark plug socket (as well as a separate 16mm socket so a little duplication there). As mentioned above, there is also a1/4 driver and 13 various bits for that. There are 2 extension bars too.4: the set comes in a good sturdy box that l expect will last. There is a lot of snobbery when it comes to tools and reading some forums the impression you can get is that you need to spend a lot of money on professional standard socket sets. I disagree. This set in my opinion is perfectly fine for an amateur mechanic. It is certainly not at the standard of Hazet, Stahlwille, or Snap-On, but it sells for a fraction of their prices.Which leads me to value – for what you pay you get a very good 3/8 socket set and the value is outstanding.I recommend this set. Good tools for a fair price. Excellent value. This is the longest review l have ever written so apologies if it rambles a bit but l hope it is useful to you when considering which socket set to buy.

My husband was very pleased with this. It’s a good tidy box & hopefully has everything he’ll need (not the biggest DIYer! Tools fit neatly inside. I bought it after an engineer who came round to fix the TV recommended it.

Handy size 3/8 drive set in a useful hard case.I like Bahco tools and have bought a few to replace / extend my toolkit for DIY mechanical, (car and motorcycle),and home use.I have used one of their 1/2 drive sets for a year or so and that’s proven good quality and I expect the same from this set.Good tools at a good price.Having the driver bits is a useful addition

Brilliant – been struggling on with an old set purchased from Argos 20 odd years ago – this set is amazing. I used to hate having to change to a different size socket since my old set wasn’t clear. Everything fits perfectly and you can clearly see what what. Case seems solid though catch is quite stiff but im sure it will ease in time. A friend recommended Bahco to me – and he was right.. next purchase will be the 3 taychey spanners but at 35 quid they’re expensive but look great. Went for this sent because it wasn’t hundreds of pieces that I would never use – just wanted the main 10 – 19mm sockets. Like the way the socket latches to the spindle as well – very good design

Had this for 7 years, I’ve done plenty of wish with it, nothing broken. Can’t ask better than that.

I bought this socket set for myself after my son’s recommendation of Bahco hand tools to me. I have to say he was right. The set came in a strong plastic case, which holds everything in the correct place without items easily being dislodged. 2 strong buckles type fixings at the front give it added security, and quality making it a pleasure to own such fine crafted hand tools. I will certainly buy Bahco tools in the future, as when you see and feel them , they ooze pure quality. Very happy indeed 🙂

I bit the bullet and went for this pricey socket set based on the reviews and so far, so good. The case is sturdy and well designed, although the clasps are a little difficult to get off initially. It is reassuringly weighty and appears well-made. It’s also useful to have the slightly larger sockets as sets I have had in the past have included only smaller ones- I find these difficult to use and a bit fiddly, but obviously it depends on the size of the nuts you’re working with. The extender socket and pivot are great this set and something that sets it apart from other cheaper alternatives. I’ve struggled in the past to deal with angled bolts and nuts but this should overcome that completely. The ratchet works well and is easy to flip between tightening and untightening, however the screwdriver head attachments for me are a little redundant
