Very easy to set up. I didn’t need to read the instructions. Good quality. Did the job perfectly and I am very basic DIY person. Would recommend! Great price also. The secret is not to set the blade too deep and do long strokes until you get thr thickness you want. I used to flatten the surface of a picnic table as the wood had warped.

This No.4 Adjustable Universal Bench Hand Plane worked for me out of the box – didnt need to sharpen it.I also took it apart after reading the reviews and managed to get it back together – I can see its a bit fiddly but like all these types of block planes – they all are – anyway nothing wrong with this item

Great product would definatly recomend but the edges are very sharp, almost as sharp as the blade so I had a mate smooth them down for me as the edges would dig into the wood
