The Bear –
Absolutely love this tape measure. It’s fully metric and the markings on both sides are a genius idea. I don’t know if this has been done before but Advent have perfected it.Worth every penny spent, this is now my go-to tape amongst seven or eight I’ve bought over the years.

This tape measure is fantastic if, like many people, you work exclusively in metric. I admit, I keep a traditional tape measure close by but this is the one I reach for first almost always. It has metric only measurements printed on both sides of the tape and down both edges on the front and back, it’s very easy to read from either direction, the numbers are always the right way up to read.If you work mostly in metric I would highly advise giving this tape measure a try, even if you think you’re perfectly competent with your traditional measure. It’s amazing how much easier it is to work with when 50% isn’t been taken up by a scale you don’t use.My only gripe is that the slide lock is a little too stiff really. It’s usable, but hopefully, it will loosen a little over time.Would choose this every time over my other tape measures, including Stanley ones.UPDATE** The slide lock mechanism has indeed loosened slightly over time and with use and now the measure is perfect. I’m taking it from 4 stars to 5 stars. Just buy one.If you found this review helpful, please hit the ‘Helpful’ button to let me know that writing these reviews is worthwhile.

The same good as the old one, but unfortunately much bigger. Great tapemeasure ,hardly fits in my pocket.

I use my tape measure everyday, drop it by accident here and there as you do and this one has held up, the blade itself is clear and stands out a good distance, the fact its always legible in mm both directions is so simple compared to eyeing it when ones on the Inch side. Found a good one.

Great tape measure. Accurate, good length, and metric on both sides top and bottom. If I break this i’ll buy another.

This is one of those products that makes you slap your head and think “DOH – why aren’t they all designed like this?”Lets face it, most British people under the age of 55 use metric. I for one am utterly delighted not to be faced with the tedium of translating 64th’s into 16th’s or quarters or whatever if I want to increase a dimension slightly. So the encumbrance of an unwanted inch scale that invariably seems to sit on the actual side you want to measure off has always been a potential source of both annoyance and inaccurate, botched measuring. Not so here! Two metric scales sit side by side, placing a usable metric scale right where you need it, every time. Even better, the upper scale is the other way up! This makes it SO much easier when measuring from right to left, as you avoid having to read numbers upside-down as would usually be the case. Hence the name – it’s designed for measuring left to right, and vice versa! This is now my go-to tape. I’ve been using one since they first appeared and were hardly known about by anyone. It has survived a lot of use over a number of years and the printed scale is only just beginning to wear slightly at the start of the tape. I have just ordered another. I recommend it without hesitation. Finally a tip: architects measure and express absolutely everything in millimeters for a reason – it’s the most accurate and error free way, and it avoids anyone mistaking “11.2” for meaning meters and sending you a fully loaded truck when you actually wanted to order an item 112mm in length!

I bought this as over the years of hearing my husband saying, I wish the number read both ways.He was delighted with it, and commented it was clear to read.

I bought my first tape about 10 years ago and being to measure using the tape upside-down or back-to-front is priceless. But I lost my favourite tape so had to replace it. It is so useful.

I’m 55 and was exclusively taught to use metric units from primary school through to university. So who, of my age or younger (apart from that haunted Victorian wardrobe of a politician) would want a tape measure with imperial units?Well, this not only has metric only units, it can be read both ways up, and also has the same scales on the back! Perfect, no more twisting your neck around trying to read a measurement.Obviously I removed and threw away the belt clip (because I’m not an idiot) but build quality is generally good, if not quite up to FatMax quality. I like the retraction brake too.Why are you still reading this? Buy it.
