This is the second time that I’ve purchased this set…..my original now is clipped to a toolboard. The old one has served me well & had a lot of use through the 16 odd years I’ve owned it. But the socket box has all but disintegrated over time…..time where it’s been in my vehicles where the vibrations have helped to destroy it. And although I’ve tried to find a replacement box, given the reasonable cost of a complete new set, I’ve given up & bought a new one.I have a Hilka 1/2″ drive set that I purchased some 35 years ago. Although it’s ok, it’s ergonomically too big…..difficult to get into and use in the confined space of an engine under a bonnet. These Teng’s are completely different, well thought out, tough & very useable. I’ve managed to crack the plating on the deep 17 mil socket, but it’s still fully functional. And I did this with a 1/2″ drive bar – & given the torque that it was subjected to, I have admit that it was abused. I’ve also had to replace the ratchet mechanism. But again I put it through stresses I shouldn’t have, so I can’t complain.This recent puchase has what looks to be a sturdier box than the last set. It’s the genuine article(s)….proper Teng sockets. The socket driver is still of a plastic construction, which I see as an advantage given that it’s less likely to short any electrical connections it comes into contact with & less likely to dent any car body work should you hit it with the ratchet while undoing nuts. I am very happy with my purchase.

Happy with all the Teng tools I have purchased. My advice would be to always shop around as the same tools very in price all over the internet. Easy to get a good deal if you keep searching. Great tools too.

Decided to get a “proper” socket as the cheap and nasty one I had was, well…cheap and nasty! Did a bit of video surfing on YouTube and Teng came back as decent. Picked the set up and more than happy with the quality. Will be using Teng for other tool needs in future

There is a reason this is nearly always out of stock. If your heart skips a beat on ‘new tools’ day, this my friends is going to rock your world. Only downside is it’s too nice to leave in the boot of the car, your best storing it under the passenger seat and when they say “what’s that under the seat” you can bore her (or him – not judging you) with your latest purchase which is obviously THE BEST THING in the WORLD!Obviously apart from the £££’s of snapon under lock and key in the garage (just never show ’em the receipts!!!)

Very well made tools, in a compact and well organised format, in a strong case with strong hinges and securing clips, my only gripe is the lack of a spinner handle (I use the short extension bar as one), also the lack of hex bits. Never mind we can’t have it all, I was so impressed with the quality of this set that I just brought the ‘Teng 1/4-inch 36 piece set’, and will buy the ‘Teng 1/2-inch 21 piece 6 point’ set when it becomes available (only the 12 point version available presently).

A review on here has mentioned that this is a counterfeit product. So i was sceptical about ordering.The set I have received is definitely a teng product. Ive been using Teng almost 5 years and majority of my tools are Teng.All of the Teng logos and serial numbers are where you would expect.The ratchet feels very sturdy and the box seems robust. The top of the box is also removable so it can be stored in a deep tray in your toolbox.Very happy with this purchase, especially at that price.
