Bosch PHO 1500 Electric Planer

The Bosch PHO 1500 is a powerful and compact planer. It offers a high material removal rate and superb finish quality, making it ideal for demanding DIY tasks. The PHO 1500 integrates a wide range of useful features, such as a patented WoodRazer blade system for smooth surface quality and extended life span, guide and planning depth adjustment and a dust extraction port for the option of connecting a dust box, dust bag or vacuum. Whether it’s planning wooden beams or door frames, the PHO 1500 will make easy work of it.

Features

Patented WoodRazor System

The electronically balanced blade drum provides users with a higher cutting speed and a higher planing quality. The included blade is a high quality tungsten carbide blade, which lasts twice as long as a two-blade system as friction is reduced. Users are able to change the knife of the blade quickly and easily by loosening only two Allen screws.

Clean Working with Little Clean-up Time

The dust extraction capability is via the integrated dust spout at the side of the tool. Simply connect a suitable vacuum cleaner or a dust bag (optional accessory) for effective dust management and a cleaner working environment at all times.

Controlled Handling at All Times

The adjustable auxiliary handle has two functions. It’s first function provides safe handling of the planer. It’s second function enables it to be used to set the cutting depth step-by-step, even during planing.

Easy to Use, Safe to Operate

The PHO 1500 features a lock off button to prevent accidental start-up of the tool, while the ergonomic design allows the on/off switch to be easily reached and operated with only one finger.

    Great basic planer .. cuts from 0.25 to 1.5mm .. after use put it on its side as the blade keeps rotating and never touch or go near the blade as injuries might occur

    Recently I’ve had several really big jobs at home that I’ve done myself to keep the cost down. The last job involved an awful lot of wood planing and I was not getting anywhere quickly with my old hand planers. So my wife and I talked about it and decided to get an electric wood planer.I decided on the Bosch because you can easily buy spare parts and accessories. Also they make good quality tools.I started out cautiously as others suggested just to get a feel for how deep it cuts on the lowest setting and then moved to deeper cut settings. It reduced my work time dramatically although it still took a whole day to do the job as there was so much to do.So I have to say it was worth spending a bit more to get a better quality item. The only caveat is that I have to agree with other that Bosch should have included a collection bag for wood shavings. I was knee deep in the stuff but I’ll let that go and still give the wood planer 5 stars.
